Lift Up! #1-Melinda

Hello all! This is Melinda(right), I’ve known her for about 5 years now and we have become very close.  She a mother of two and has an amazingly supportive husband(middle). Also, yes, we are doing Jager bombs lol..

About 3 years ago Melinda lost a good amount of weight and got her body where she wanted, then between marriage and having a baby she’s back to where she was before all the loss.

Frist question I ask people is “why?” if you’re doing it because someone else wants you and you are just obliging; I have a hard time supporting you cause I’m pretty sure you’ll fail. You can’t make life changes unless you want it in your heart, therefore I’m starting with Melinda.

Why is she wanting to lose weight? She gave me a great answer to this:

“I’m wanting to lose weight because I want my healthy and happy back. I used to feel sexy and confident. Now I hate to leave my house because someone might see me looking fat. I used to love to be active. Now being active wears me out. I want to be able to play with my kids, go on hikes, wear a bathing suit in public again. My health is important and when it became hard to tie my damn shoes, I realized how far I’d let myself go.”

We all an idea of what we want from our self’s and the reasons why. I pull two great reasons from this, 1, wanting to be there for your kids and 2, being confident. Confidence can change your life, it’s a great this thing to have.

I like to know what diets people are on, I know KETO is the hot thing now. So, what is Melinda doing?

“My diet so far has contained a lot of chicken, salads, cauliflower, broccoli, eggs, avocados, turkey burger, cottage cheese, and sugar-free Jell-O.”

I like this, it’s nothing to strict that you’re going to fail right away. For me at least that’s how it’s been, “Hey bro, just eat Bananas, Rice, Apples and drink Tea” and that’s cool for 3 days and I quit. Being able to rotate in good fats, cutting sugar keeping your calories in check is not easy, but it’s a easier than most.

Lastly in this intro, I asked what she’s using to monitor herself?

“I’m using Google fit cause it can track everything with just my phone. That’s almost always in my back pocket. I might try a different app eventually when I get a fitness band. And I use the simple weight tracker app to keep track of my weight loss”

She’s keeping it simple and staying positive. I can’t wait for the next update on Melinda, she’s determined as fuck and I love it.  Right now, she’s down 10 lbs!! Give her some damn props!
